Thank You to our Christian Educators
by Miriam Rossow on June 10th, 2020
We are so thankful to all of those who serve in the education ministries at Christ Our Savior. We gratefully express our appreciation to our teachers, assistants, support staff and their families who served us faithfully this school year!
A Returning Truth
by Miriam Rossow on June 5th, 2020
When Jesus went back to His home in heaven, He promised to get a place ready for us so we can live with Him forever someday. In this lesson we will learn about the new heaven and earth and some things that are and are not there.
A Telling Truth
by Miriam Rossow on May 29th, 2020
Before Jesus went back to heaven, He promised to send His friends a gift. The Bible words for this lesson tell what the gift was. A strong wind was heard when the Holy Spirit came down from heaven. We can feel the wind when it blows, but we cannot see it. In a similar way, we do not see the Holy Spirit, but we can feel it and see it working in our lives.
An Ascending Truth
by Miriam Rossow on May 22nd, 2020
In this lesson we will learn how Jesus went back to His home in heaven and the special promise He gave before He went.
A Soldier Believes
by Miriam Rossow on May 15th, 2020
This lesson tells of a jailer, a person who normally kept people in chains, who was the one set free. Acts 16:16-40
An Enemy Converts
by Miriam Rossow on May 8th, 2020
In this lesson, we will see how God called a man named Saul and gave Him a new life as His child. In the Bible story, we will see how Saul was changed, not in the way he looked (like in the picture) but in his heart. The story comes from Acts 9:1-31
A Deacon Delivers
by Miriam Rossow on May 1st, 2020
This lesson shows us how God used a man, Philp, to help another man, the Ethiopian, understand God’s word. After the Ethiopian learned about God he wanted to be baptized, and Philip baptized him. We see how the Holy Spirit works through the Word and Baptism to give faith. Find the account of this story in Acts 8:26-40
Sharing Love: A Servant Speaks
by Miriam Rossow on April 24th, 2020
In today’s lesson we will learn about Stephen. He was a helper in the early church. The Holy Spirit helped Stephen to boldly speak the truth of God’s Word as he served God.
A Revealing Truth
by Miriam Rossow on April 17th, 2020
The Road to Emmaus account is found in Luke 24:13-35. The word Emmaus means “hot springs.” Emmaus was a small village about 7 miles from Jerusalem. How far is church from your house? How far is the grocery store? Think about something that is about 7 miles from your house? Do you think you could walk there? In today’s lesson two men walked to Emmaus from Jerusalem, and Jesus walked with them.
He is Risen. He is Risen Indeed, Alleluia!
by Miriam Rossow on April 11th, 2020
ALLELUIA is a joyful expression meaning Praise the Lord! During Lent we omit the word Alleluia from our worship. Lent is a quiet, reflective season in the church year. Easter is a festive celebration of Jesus’ Resurrection when our Alleluias ring again loud and clear! Alleluia! Happy Easter! This lesson will show us why Easter makes us excited to celebrate! Jesus conquered death and rose from the dead, giving us eternal life in Him!
Good Friday- What is so Good about it?
by Miriam Rossow on April 9th, 2020
Why do we call Good Friday good? This is the day that Jesus dies. This is the darkest day in our church year. An innocent man was put on trial, tortured, and murdered. That does not sound good. Use this lesson to help you dig deeper into the reasons Good Friday is good. Jesus love is so great that He took on Himself the punishment none of us could bear simply out of His great love for His creation, for me, for you!
Jesus, Our Good Shepherd
by Miriam Rossow on March 27th, 2020
The current state of things in our world certainly can fill us with the fear of danger, specifically now as the virus is invading our lives in many ways, but thankfully we can rely on Jesus to be our Good Shepherd being with us at all times, protecting us.
These Words Shall be in Your Heart
by Miriam Rossow on February 12th, 2020
This month in Sunday school we are having a fun competition, the February Football Frenzy! Part of this competition is encouraging the students to do their memory work. Memorizing God’s Word is important for many reasons. The reasons for memorizing Scripture do not change whether you are 3 years old, 33 years old, or 93 years old!
