Our Mission

The mission of Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church is to make disciples who share the love of Jesus Christ in these communities and with people everywhere.

Our Vision

The vision of Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church is to create a community of  believers who grow, share, connect, belong, and serve together and are led to share Jesus  with the surrounding communities.

Our Pastors

Our congregation is led by Senior Pastor Dean Davenport. He is assisted by Pastor Joel Werner.

What We Believe

God

There is one true God. He has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

God the Father

The person of the Father is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise.  God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom,  justice, and mercy.

God the Son, Jesus

God has revealed himself and His love to us through his son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God. The holy scriptures and all of creation point us to Jesus and God's love. Jesus was born of the virgin Mary, lived a fully human life, was convicted of a crime He did not commit, suffered, died, & rose for the salvation of the world. He has conquered death and the devil in this and will come again in all power to completely and fully  redeem His creation.

God the Holy Spirit

God the Holy Spirit works faith in us and always points us back to the work of the Son, Jesus. The Spirit sustains and strengthens our faith.

Mankind

Humans, both male and female, were created in God's image for His glory.  The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin and appointed as caretakers of the rest of God's creations.

The Fall

When Adam and Eve chose not to obey God, they ceased to be what they were made to be and became distorted images of God. In this act all of creation was broken and every relationship strained and tainted.

The Church

The Church is the bride of Christ. She is meant to be the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. As followers of Jesus we get to participate in the coming of the new creation and God's kingdom here on earth even before Jesus returns.

Resurrection

Jesus Christ is returning one day to redeem all of creation. When He returns He will usher in the New Creation.  At that time sin, death, & the devil  will be wiped out forever. Creation will be made new and relationships between creation and it's creator will be restored to perfection.

Sacraments

Baptism

In baptism we believe that God is doing the work. He is forgiving sins and adopting us to be His child and heirs in His kingdom. Because we believe God is doing the work and redeeming us back in Baptism we baptize infants, children, and adults. All are in need of being bought back and so we baptize all.

Communion

In Communion or the Lord's Supper we receive the forgiveness of sins. God is acting in this supper as He forgives and unites us. Jesus promises that in this new covenant or promise that He is truly present. We do not understand how this happens only believe through faith that it does. We believe that in, with, and under the bread and wine is Jesus' body and blood given for us and for our forgiveness.
*If you are not a member of our congregation or another LCMS congregation we ask that you talk with an elder or pastor before the service and before receiving communion. *
