Emotionally Settled? How are you doing?
by Miriam Rossow on April 24th, 2020
Being under quarantine with heavy social restrictions might be physically health-preserving during this time of a serious, highly contagious disease spread, but it is not emotionally healthy. We humans long for human contact. When God created man, He said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.”
Our Response to the Coronavirus
by Miriam Rossow on March 13th, 2020
While on this earth, in the middle of sin, brokenness, and illness, we are called to trust and hope in Jesus as our strength and provider and we are called to care for and love all of creation. As this virus spreads, we are called to heed the advice of those placed around us. We are not called to panic or lose hope. We know that this virus is spread through personal contact. We also know that those with compromised immune systems and who are elderly are more susceptible to the adverse effects of the virus. Christ Our Savior has put into effect some measures to help stop the spread of the virus as best we can while also keeping our trust in the Lord.
Planning even in the unknown
by Miriam Rossow on March 12th, 2020
So, it is with the current issue of the Coronavirus. We have been told by all the experts from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the best health prevention entity in the world, that we need to prepare for the corona virus. We need to plan. That doesn’t mean we are going to become infected, but we could. Or our children and grandchildren who are at a minimal risk of becoming ill could become carriers of the virus to their grandparents or others.
Being Smart and Being Prepared
by Miriam Rossow on March 9th, 2020
At Christ Our Savior we know that Jesus is our source of all comfort. We are also aware that God gives us a responsibility to live in this world and look for Him as we respond to the joys and hurts of life. So as we consider the new threat of the Coronavirus we want to take precautions and measures to help keep everyone safe.

Let's Talk About Suicide and The Cross
by Miriam Rossow on November 20th, 2019
We need not fear talking about suicide, though. In fact, one myth that is often promoted is that if you talk about suicide with people who are depressed (or with anyone at all), this will get them to consider it themselves when they would have never considered it otherwise. On the contrary, not talking about suicide with those who are at risk leaves them isolated from voices of compassion and love—voices of concern and truth that they desperately need to hear.
