What's the Big Deal?

What's the big deal? What is the importance of saying we are justified by faith? Paul uses Abraham to help make the point that this does matter. In this Romans passage Paul tells us that Abraham was made righteous and saved by faith and not by the works that he did. What do you look to when you wonder if you are saved? Do you look to your works or to Jesus? Do you want to be remembered at your funeral service by the things you did or by what Jesus did for you and in you and through you. Faith comes first and then the works. Faith focuses on something outside of us. Faith focuses on Jesus. It is in and with that faith that we can then do any good works.
