Sharing Christ in Difficult Times

Jan 26, 2020    Rev. David Erber    Philippians 1:9-11

Pastor Erber and his wife Joyce shared thoughts about sharing Christ in difficult times both in Ghana and in the U.S. There are a variety of reasons for it being difficult whether that is because of different theology or cultural differences or a large area and few people to share. The one hope that was shared is that through relationships with others and the sharing of Jesus love in each of those relationships we can trust that the Holy Spirit will grow and nurture faith. Pastor Erber told two stories of faith in the midst of challenge. The story of Tito who continued to feel the call of the Holy Spirit on his life and even in the midst of his own struggles of loss and death Tito holds onto the promises he knows from the Holy Spirit and shares those with the people around him. And in bible class a man who is Muslim who has heard the calling of Jesus and in order to not have confrontation with his family he continues to be part of his Muslim family while also continuing to learn about Jesus and his love through his children and wife who stay connected to the church. We trust Jesus and the Holy Spirit as we love people and Jesus loves people through us.
