Good Stewards of God's Varied Grace

Nov 8, 2020    Rev. Dr. Richard Wolfram    1 Peter 4:1-11

The theme for the first week of our stewardship emphasis is “Stewards of God’s Varied Grace.” In our short time on earth, we are called by God to take care of His things. He has made us His stewards. A Christian steward is a child of God who realizes his/her role in life as a partner, a trustee, a manager, a caretaker, a temporary custodian of gifts that belong to God. Through faith, we understand that all we have belongs to the One Who created us. Being a steward is faith in action. What a privilege and honor that God, Who has created us and recreated us in Baptism, chooses us to be His stewards. In this honored position, we are expected to be responsible and accountable. The Apostle Paul wrote, “Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found trustworthy” (1 Corinthians 4:2). With the help of the Holy Spirit, we, by God’s grace, become God-pleasing stewards. who receive God’s precious gifts gratefully, manage God’s gifts carefully and responsibly, share God’s precious gifts with others generously, and return God’s precious gifts joyfully with increase.
