Erber Missionary Update
March 16, 2018

Dear Partners in Mission,

Within a few hours, the church in Ghana will elect a new leadership. It is an exciting time for the church. When Joyce and I first went to Africa 30+ years ago, Rev. Paul Kofi Fynn was already recognized as having served as the president of the Lutheran church in Ghana for a long time.

On Saturday, March 17, a new generation of leadership will be elected.

Today, the chairman of the election committee wrote:

"As we go into elections  this Saturday, let us remember that everything is still about Jesus.   Christ is NOT going to choose leaders. There will NOT be winners or losers. It's all about Christ working in His church. Christ Himself will harness the very gifts he himself has placed in us to move the glorious ELCG forward in a PECULIAR direction. He will use the gifts of those who will be elected for a PECULIAR purpose and HE will again use the gifts of those who will not be elected for a PECULIAR purpose.

At the end of it all, it will be all about Christ. He is the one who is in control. And the glory is His.

Tell the righteous that it will be well with them⒊ (Isaiah 3:10)"

Ebenezer Boafo

Indeed, there will not be winners or losers in the election. The election will be about Christ making use of the gifts He has given to the church! This is true for those elected and those not elected. Even in this election, it's still all about Jesus!

Please join us in prayer for the church in Ghana!

Your partners in mission,

David and Joyce
