Mission Statement
The purpose of the Music Ministry of Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church is to proclaim the Word of God through music, which inspires and enriches the Body of Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit, so that all may know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Festival Choir
This mixed choir sings a variety of styles of music and leads the congregation regularly in worship September through May. This choir also appears twice in concert throughout the year. Open to all members high school age and older.
Rehearsals: Thursday, 7:00pm-8:30pm

Men's Chorus
This choir is open to all men in the congregation high school age and older. The group sings on a monthly basis for worship.

Ladies' Chorus
This choir is open to all women in the congregation in high school and older. The group sings on a monthly basis for worship.

Instrumentalists
Keep your eyes open for a new instrumental group beginning at Christ Our Savior in the near future. More details will be coming!
 
Children's Choir
Children in grades 1 through 6 have the opportunity to participate in this choir.  Children in this choir are taught the basics of proper singing and musicianship.  They also have the opportunity to play various instruments throughout the year.  They enhance the worship services throughout the school year and appear for special services and concerts.
Rehearsal: Wednesdays, 5:30pm - 6:15pm

Confirmation Choir
This choir is composed of youth in grades 7 and 8 who are in the Confirmation instruction classes. Members are taught the fundamentals of Lutheran Worship, hymnody, musicianship, and singing. They sing for worship on a regular basis.
Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 6:15-6:55pm

Sunday School Choir
All students learn a variety of songs and are scheduled to sing for worship at least twice during the school year. Groups are divided according to age.
Rehearsals are at the beginning of Sunday School.

Jubellation Handbell Choir
This 4-octave handbell choir rings on a regular basis for worship and appears annually in the Christmas Concert and in community events.
Rehearsals: Tuesdays, 7:00-8:30pm

Christ Our Savior Brass Ensemble
This group enhances the festival services held during the year as well as performing at the annual Christmas concert.
Rehearsals are announced.

Cantors* & Instrumentalists
This opportunity is available to anyone who wishes to sing or play an instrument in worship.  These musicians assist and lead the congregation in singing the liturgy, various hymns. and psalms.  They also may provide other music in the form of: solos, duets, trios, or small ensembles.
 
* What is a cantor? A cantor is a vocalist whose purpose in worship is to lead the congregation in singing and learning liturgical music, hymns and psalms. A cantor's responsibility includes: sharing in proclaiming the Word of God, particularly as a psalm leader in the Service of the Word; teach the congregation new songs, refrains and responses; enliven the song worship of the congregation; and, lead moments of worship with solos.
